27th June, London: Creative Industries

<<   ATTENDEE LIST   >>

This Cityzone Entrepreneurial Network event takes place at Westbourne Studios, 242 Acklam Road, London W10(MAP), on Tuesday, 27th June 2006. Sponsored by Creative London Westside - a Paddington Development Trust and Creative London initiative - and the Creative Capital Fund.

This event is part of a programme of events designed to showcase the opportunities available in the Creative Industries sector in London and in particular, the "london westside" area (Boroughs of Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea), which is:

  • the creative and cultural engine for London and the UK - its businesses generate 2.5% of national GDP.
  • building a global identity as a London "quarter" comparable in economic importance to the City of London's financial sector.

Creative Industries is the 2nd largest sector in terms of job growth in London and adds £21billion p.a. to London's output. With growth rates of 4.5 per cent, particularly in sectors such as digital content, music, design and fashion, Creative London believes that "...by the time the Olympics come to London in 2012, we could be talking about a £30bn plus business – a business that’s bigger than the city’s financial sector."
