REAL SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

"Business"  is as important as "Social" in Social Enterprise

What is Social Enterprise?
Links from the Social Enterprise Coalition web site:

Social Enterprise is not:

  • Philanthropy
  • 100% Government-funded.

Great Social Enterprises include the RNLI (1824), the Cooperative Movement (1844), Barnados (1866) through to modern initiatives such as  the Grameen Bank (1974) and  Microcredit, Cafédirect (1991) and Fair Trade, and the Big Issue (1991).
