EXPERIENCE
The candidate must show evidence of having been through the entire fundraising and successful return to shareholders process, on preferably more than one previous occasion. In addition the candidate will have worked in a technical environment and will have experience of business development and of building strategic alliances with market leaders.
The candidate must have a history of success and direct experience of the medical devices market both in the US and Europe. This experience will include demonstration of strategic thinking and of having grown a device company and achieved a successful trade sale or IPO exit. Good contact network within the market leaders would be expected.
The candidate would be expected to have familiarity with medical devices in general, the reimbursement structures within the major territories and in negotiating commercial agreements with distributors and resellers.
The company’s next funding round is planned for early 2011 so a good contact network within the investment community would be expected.
PERSONALITY
The candidate is going to be someone who can command respect and raise the company’s profile. It is expected that the successful candidate will be hands on and will drive the company through its next phase of growth.
